Howdy I am back again this time with another layout of my gorgeous girl! I miss her so much since she moved to Brisbane. She is growing up into a beautiful young lady! I can’t believe she will be 20 next month!
I have a tutorial below on how to create this textured frame.
This flower was created using Botanique papers and the Grand Peony Creations
Dimensional Border Tutorial
It is pretty easy to create this dimensional border. All you need is a peace of patterned paper. Using your craft knife and cut a cross though the middle of the paper. Only cut up to a couple of inches in form the corners. If you have a pattern on the corners like this paper, blade around the pattern so it stays flat.
Next spray water all over the paper, make it wet enough so that it is easy enough to manipulate.
Then starting at the center of the paper, concertina, crumple and fold the paper back onto itself.
Once you are happy with the folded borders use your craft knife to poke a hole into the center of the border and hold it together with a brad. Then Wallah a quick and easy dimensional border!

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial!! Have a Great Day! xx
OK, I think I am getting over my week, having a day just creating yesterday helped a lot! Will share more of that when I photograph the projects. It has been a nice change of pace for the weekend. I am feeling a lot better now! Thank you everyone for your beautiful words of advice and support! Really does mean a lot! So Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
On some other news I have just announced I will be having my first weekend workshop in Mackay on the 16th & 17th of March. I have just put a call out for expressions of interest, also if any one knows of any good venue’s I should look into I would really appreciate it!
Welcome back, Today I have another video tutorial on creating your own background with Donna Salazar’s stamps & Mix’d Media Inx & Smooch Sptitz. I have also used the Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms on this layout! They are so gorgeous and perfect for creating flowers to suit any project.
To give your bling butterflies more movement stick them to a piece of acetate, then cut it out and glue the center of the butterfly down with the wings slightly bent up.
After cutting the leaves from the bitty blossoms, ink with Mossy Mix’d Media Inks then mist with water and crumple up to give the leaves more texture.
Here is the Video Tutorial on creating the patchwork stamped background!
Back again with the last layout from the Mix’d Media Inx article in Issue 18 in the Australian Scrapbook Ideas magazine. Leonii took this photo of the Leaning Tower of Pisa on her holiday overseas last year!!! This one shows the use of mixing the Mix’d Media Inx with modelling paste then used over stencils!!
I went live with my facebook page tonight and I am blown away by the response already!!! Thank you so much everyone from the bottom of my heart!!! 🙂 Michelle Grant desiGns Facebook
Tip: Blend your Mix’d Media Inks with modelling paste to create different coloured modelling paste. You can use the ink pads or the re inkers for this technique.
Tip:Mix’d media Inx Blend and run easier over the top of Modelling Paste or Gesso and is absorbed more on plain paper but can still be softened and blended into the paper when spritzed with water.

Back again with the third layout from my Mix’d Media Inx article in Issue 18 in the Australian Scrapbook Ideas magazine. I never get tired of taking photos of my gorgeous daughter, I miss her so much now she has moved to Brisbane, over 10 hours away!! I was so excited to learn today that this layout went to CHA!! Made my day, been one of those days where I have been feeling overwhelmed by everything and over tired! This was just what I needed! You can check it out on the Australian Scrapbook Ideas Facebook Page HERE.
Tip:Sand or use a distressing tool over machine stitching to create a distressed worn look.
Tip: Use water to blend the Mix’d Media Inx into your project to create softer more blended look.
